Andrew Homan is new to the Lubbock Homes For Heroes Board. He was born and raised in Oregon and recently moved to Texas from Alaska. He is a graduate of Oregon State University. Andrew has spent approximately 20 years as a law enforcement officer before retiring as a sergeant in 2010 from the City of Bend Police Department in Oregon. He worked as a patrol officer, narcotics detective and spent 11 of his last years on the SWAT team as a sniper and as a supervisor. After retiring, he did a short tour in Afghanistan working for the state department. Upon returning to the United States, he moved to Alaska where he was a charter boat captain. It was his time as a charter boat captain where he was first introduced to helping returning vets. Andrew guided numerous vets on fishing trips and received great satisfaction helping them and hearing their stories.
